N&C’s view, RM’s problems

This sector has been booming since the Macron laws. Similar to rail in its MR logic, buses face the same complexity of multi-city service, with the added difficulty of bus capacity, which is much smaller than that of trains.


The combination of fare levels and Origin-Destination is such that it makes forecasting extremely volatile. The RM challenge lies in the right management rules rather than in the quality of the forecasts. Few major players share the market today, with a fragmented competition (car, car-sharing, train).
